Comment: I got this detector for a cross country trip I was taking. Worked perfectly. Have been using it around town and it works really well. This might sound stupid but I really like the fact that it has a compass on it. For the price this is a really great buy.

Comment: This is my first radar detector. I didn't want to spend $400 on a high end unit. I took this Whistler detector with me on a recent 1K mile road trip. I was impressed with how often it alerted me to the presence of enforcement radar. I don't speed as a matter of habit; I just don't want to get a ticket because I'm not paying attention. This Whistler detector kept me more alert and involved in my driving.

Summary: Best radar detector under $150
Comment: It has saved me 6 times already in the past 3 weeks, 4 of those times were in the last week of august. They aren't kidding when they try to meet their quotas at the end of the month.

The distance that it warns you in seems to be kind of low though. Most alerts are between 200-300ft it seems, distances where it is a toss up whether you have a chance of not getting detected at your speed or not.

This is a good radar detector if you want to cruise -10mph over and want to do so safely without getting bothered by the LEO's. I wouldn't recommend going 15-25mph over though as your risk of getting caught imo would go up significantly.

All in all a great radar detector for the price and came with rev c. I have it mounted high on the windshield in the middle left by the rear view mirror.

Would recommend to anyone that doesn't want to spend a lot of money on aradar detector and wants something more upscale than a crappy cobra.
